My Story
Hello!! My name is Summer. I am a Southern California Girl! Born and raised with a temp relocation to Washington State with my boyfriend at the time, now husband of 12 years (together for 20). To be closer to family we unexpectedly started our own family. In 2002 we had a baby girl, Chloe Jane. What a life-changer. Being so far from home (So. Cal.) and the majority of our family, we decided to move back in 2004. We continued growing our family in 2006 when we had Connor. I currently work full time at a Restoration company where I coordinate insurance water damage mitigation and restoration. I have been in the customer service industry for many years starting at In-N-Out Burger where I eventually became a shift manager. After 7 years with the company and only being 23 years old I decided I wanted an office job with a 9-5, M-F schedule, holidays off, no nights, no coming home smelling like burgers and onions. That’s when I transferred into the office world. What a mistake! LOL. I don’t even want to know where I would have been if I stayed with INO. But, I love my life and wouldn’t change it.
How I started Scentsy
I was introduced to Scentsy by my Aunt Carol. She was so energetic and excited about this company, the products, and her new opportunity. She asked me to host a party. I said, sure what do I have to lose? So I invited friends and family over to my house. I served some appetizers and wine of course. My aunt did such a great job of telling everyone about Scentsy that my sales for the party were $700. She told me that I can take my sales from my party and actually earn a commission if I joined Scentsy myself. So I said why not, I’m not putting any money out of my pocket. I ended up using my credits from the party to get my own consultant sales kit. It happened to be a double kit month so I got testers and catalogs from both Summer/Spring and Fall/Winter. Wow, all this product for free and I made money off my own party. And since I sold $500 within the first 15 days I hit the Shooting Star award and earned another kit with tons of products for my new business. I started using and sharing all the products and fell more in love with Scentsy. All Scentsy products are of high quality and made by hand. I was hooked. The scents smell amazing as well. I started having fun with the business. Making bags with samples and my website info and handing them out to friends and family, not really trying to push the product on them but to just share what I have discovered and love so much. By the end of my first month, I sold over $1000 and got a 5% pay raise. Within my first 70 days, I hit another award called Sensation Start Level 1 and earned $50 product credit, a bracelet and charm, a certificate and recognition from the Owners of the company, Orville and Heidi. Wow, this company has exceeded my expectations and I am so glad I am a part of something great.
My lift since Scentsy
Over the past 3 years as a Scentsy Consultant, I have gained so much more than income. This is not only a business. I have the flexibility to work my business whenever and wherever I want. I’ve gained so many friendships along the way. I have been a consultant for several other direct sales companies and have never had access to so much training, documents, and information that is easy to find and use.
